Richard Valder-Davis has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Richard began their career in 2001 at JPMorgan Chase as an Associate Director and worked there until 2005. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Senior Contract Negotiator at UBS Investment Bank. In 2007, they joined Bishop International Ltd as a Corporate Investigator. In 2009, Richard joined Sussex Police as a Detective within the Safeguarding Investigations Unit, where they gained extensive experience in child protection incidents, sexual assaults, and high-risk domestic violence cases. Richard worked at Sussex Police until 2017. Currently, they are employed at Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, with various roles including Safeguarding Manager, Senior Safeguarding Lead, and Head of Safeguarding & Academy Player Care.

Richard Valder-Davis obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Criminology from the University of Lincoln, where they studied from 1999 to 2002. Later, they attended The College of Law from 2008 to 2009 and completed a Legal Practice Course with a focus on Commercial Law, Criminal Law, and Immigration Law.
