Hedley Swain

Hedley Swain is an accomplished museum and arts sector leader with extensive experience in various high-level roles. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Brighton & Hove Museums since October 2020, Hedley previously held significant positions at Arts Council England, including Area Director for the South East and Director of Museums and Renaissance from July 2011 to October 2020. Prior experience also includes serving as Director of Programme Delivery at MLA and Head of Early London History and Collections at the Museum of London. Hedley Swain holds a BA in Archaeological Studies and an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, attained between 1980 and 1983.
