Zola Adegboyega has over twenty years of experience in finance and accounting. In 1999, they began their career at the Financial Services Authority as a Public Affairs & Accountability Officer and at PricewaterhouseCoopers CI LLP as an Accounts Assistant. In 2002, they took on the role of Deputy Facilities Manager at Grosvenor Facilities Management, where they managed a University residence with 720 residents, 60 buildings, and a turnover of £5M per annum. In 2004, they moved to the London Borough of Merton as a Principal Accountant, where they provided financial support to the Department Director, Budget Managers, and staff. In 2011, they took on the role of Faculty Finance Manager at Kingston University's Faculty of Business & Law, where they directed the Faculty Finance and Faculty Technical Support teams and developed optimal methods for resource and spend allocation. In 2013, they were promoted to Deputy Head of Resources & Planning at Kingston University's Faculty of Science, Engineering & Computing, where they oversaw and directed the analysis and provision of financial information for the Deanery. Finally, in 2016, they took on the role of Finance Consultant: Central Finance at Kingston University, where they facilitated a critical consolidation of sixteen departments down to eight, re-aligned budgets in accordance with the restructure of non-academic departments, and contributed to a projected cost-saving of £2.6M. In 2022, they began their current role as a Tax Project Coordinator at Bright!Tax.
Zola Adegboyega has a diverse educational background. Zola obtained their BA in Accounting & Finance from the University of West London in 1998 after studying there from 1995 to 1998. Zola then went on to earn their Masters in Accounting & Finance from Kingston University in 2002. In 2011, they obtained their FCCA from ACCA and from 2007 to 2009, they studied Chartered Accountancy at ACCA. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, such as the C1 DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) from Instituto Cervantes in 2017, the CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Adults) from Cambridge English in 2014, and Expert Tips for Answering Common Interview Questions from LinkedIn in 2021.
