Laura Watford

Laura Watford is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in STEM and science education. Currently serving as the Director of Access Courses Online since September 2022, Watford previously held the position of Leader of Faculty of Science at STEMunity, where Laura co-founded the organization and runs STEM Academy South to connect students with STEM opportunities. With a solid background as a Learning Design Consultant at Britannica Digital Learning, and as a Lead Practitioner for Science/STEM at The Thinking Schools Academy Trust, Watford has demonstrated a commitment to advancing science education across various platforms. Their earlier roles include Teacher Coordinator for the Royal Academy of Engineering's Connecting STEM Teachers Programme, Director of Science at Castle View Academy, and Specialist Leader of Education at Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance. Watford holds advanced degrees in Teaching & Learning, Secondary Science, and Marine Biology from the University of Portsmouth.
