James Cook

James Cook is an experienced communications strategist with a focus on the technology sector. Currently, James serves as a Freelance Communications Strategist (Pro Bono) for Global Rights Compliance since September 2021 and as a Senior Consultant for BriteBirch Collective since November 2020. Previously, James held the position of Managing Director and Head of the Technology Practice at BCW Global from October 2018 to November 2020, and served as Executive Vice President at Edelman in New York from January 2010 to September 2019, leading a team dedicated to technology communications. Earlier roles include Deputy General Manager and Director of the SEA Technology Practice at Edelman, as well as leadership positions in China and regional teams at MS&L and Weber Shandwick. James began a communications career at Harvard Public Relations. Academically, James holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Liverpool, earned between 1988 and 1991.
