James Murphy

James assumed the role of Director, Research and Science, reporting to the Chief Executive, on 1 March 2023. He had joined the Management Board as Director, Research and Science Designate on 1 February 2023. James has been with the BAT Group for more than 17 years in various senior roles including, most recently, Executive Vice President, U.S. Scientific Research & Development.

Prior to that, James’s roles included being Group Head of PRRP Science and Regional Product Manager for the Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa.
