Colin Buckley has a diverse and extensive work experience. Colin served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Georgia Regional Development Fund, where they designed a social impact fund and oversaw investments in agriculture and tourism SMEs. Colin also held various roles at British International Investment, including Managing Director and General Counsel, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Strategy, and Chief Operating Officer. Colin was the Interim General Manager at European DFIs - EDFI. At Childrens Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), they served as the Executive Director of Investments, responsible for designing and preparing investments for a $3 billion private foundation focused on children's issues. Additionally, Colin worked as the Resident Country Director for Millennium Challenge Corporation and as the Acting Senior Operations Manager at IFC - International Finance Corporation, where they advocated for legal reforms and oversaw corporate governance projects. Colin also served as a Consultant and Interim Director for various organizations, including a management buyout team and an online distributor of financial products. Colin started their career as a corporate finance lawyer at firms such as BROWN RUDNICK FREED & GESMER, DAY BERRY & HOWARD, and DECHERT PRICE & RHOADS.
Colin Buckley earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in History from William & Mary in 1982. Colin then attended William & Mary Law School from 1982 to 1985, earning their Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Colin later pursued further education at the University of Cambridge, where they obtained their Master of Laws (LLM) in Law from 1985 to 1986.
