Prior to their current role, Allyson was the Health Services Engagement Lead London for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). In this role, they were responsible for high level engagement at the regional health services systems level, including influencing investment in implementation by building relationships with senior decision makers within health and social care. Allyson also focused on convening senior level stakeholder meetings to ensure that the burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) was known and prioritised across a defined geographical patch. Allyson used field intelligence to identify opportunities for CVD innovative implementation, best practice development, spread and adoption, and coordinated activities to capitalise on these opportunities. Allyson was in this role for 2 years and 3 months.

Before their time at the BHF, Allyson was a Primary Care Engagement Facilitator for Cancer Research UK. In this role, they visited GP practices to provide them with cancer data, encourage reflection on referral patterns and current practice, introduce practices to various early diagnosis tools and interventions, share best practice and innovative solutions trialled by another practice, provide training to clinical and non-clinical staff, and provide evidence, information and resources to help practices with specific issues. Allyson was in this role for 1 year and 11 months.
