Doug MacDonald is an experienced coach developer and consultant with a focus on enhancing the capabilities of coaches within various sports organizations, including British Rowing and sportscotland. Currently serving as a Coach Developer for the Olympic Pathway at British Rowing, Doug plays a key role in shaping innovative coaching development models. Additionally, Doug holds positions as a Coach Developer Practitioner at the sportscotland institute of sport, Board Trustee at SiMBA Charity, and Consultant at Lacuna Learning. With a PhD research focus on the psychological skills development in athletes at the University of Stirling, Doug has also contributed to the field through roles such as Visiting Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University and Programme Lead for Scottish Swimming. Education includes a DProf in Coach Development from Leeds Beckett University and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Northumbria University.
