Broadband Forum : TR-369 User Service Platform (USP) Project Stream leader at Broadband Forum

Tim Spets has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Tim currently serves as a Lead Technologist Digital Home at Nokia, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Broadband Forum as the TR-369 User Service Platform (USP) Project Stream leader, starting in 2016.

Tim also worked at ASSIA, Inc. as a Sr Standards Consultant from 2020 to 2022, where they represented the company in the Broadband Forum and drove new BBF/USP Architecture in the WiFi industry. Before that, they were a Sr Systems and Standards Architect at Greenwave Reality Inc from 2013 to 2019, where they were involved in the TR-369 USP Architecture team.

During their career, Tim also worked at CableLabs as a Consultant in 2012, where they integrated SIP Gateway Specification with WT-104 and TR-069. Tim served as the Technical Working Group Chair at Broadband Forum in 2012-2013, presiding over meetings and driving new broadband standards.

Earlier in their career, Tim worked at Motorola Mobility, Westell, 3Com, and Motorola, Inc., holding various roles where they delivered technical guidance, drove standards, and provided engineering expertise in areas such as home networking, M2M devices, and broadband technologies.

Overall, Tim Spets has a wealth of experience and expertise in driving innovative solutions and standards in the telecommunications industry.

Tim Spets attended Hamilton Technical College from 1985 to 1986 and earned an Associate's of Applied Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Following this, they attended North Central College from 1987 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Management.
