Thomas Lau is a seasoned Senior ASIC Engineer with over 28 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Currently at Broadcom since February 2005, Thomas has worked on various advanced projects including system modeling, performance optimization, and RTL design for various types of physical layer (PHY) ASICs, as well as firmware development for embedded ARM processors. Prior to Broadcom, Thomas served as an engineer at Terayon Communications, where contributions included the micro-architecture and verification of cable modems, and held earlier roles at Quantum as an ASIC Design Engineer, specializing in RTL design and verification for hard disk drive ASICs. Thomas holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the University of Cambridge.
