Lars Peder Brekk has held prominent positions in both public service and the banking sector over an extensive career. Since January 2014, Lars Peder Brekk has served as Direktør at Brønnøysundregistrene. Prior to that, Lars Peder Brekk was the Parlamentarisk leder for Senterpartiet in the Stortinget from October 2005 to October 2013, serving as a Stortingsrepresentant and leading the Næringskomiteen while being a member of other important committees. Lars Peder Brekk also held ministerial roles, including Landbruks- og matminister in the Stoltenberg government from June 2008 to June 2012 and Fiskeriminister in the Bondevik government for a brief period in 2000. Earlier in their career, Lars Peder Brekk worked as Banksjef at SpareBank 1 SMN from 1987 to 1997, with a temporary leave to serve as mayor of Vikna kommune. Lars Peder Brekk holds a Cand.oecon degree in Sosialøkonomi from the University of Oslo, completed between 1977 and 1982.
