Evan Casper-Futterman is a seasoned professional in urban planning and public policy, currently serving as a Lecturer at the University of Maryland since January 2024. In addition, Evan holds the position of Senior Director for Planning and Education at the Bronx Cooperative Development Initiative since March 2018, and has recently been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and Hunter College. With a background in community development and economic democracy, Evan has contributed as a Board Member at the Cooperative Economics Alliance of New York City and completed doctoral research at Rutgers University focused on collective ownership strategies. Earlier experiences include a Research Fellowship at The Democracy at Work Institute and an internship at the Domestic Policy Council of The White House. Evan's academic credentials comprise a PhD in Urban Planning and Public Policy from Rutgers University, a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans, and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Vassar College.
