John Russick

John Russick is an accomplished museum professional with extensive experience in leadership and exhibition development. Currently serving as the Managing Director at the Bronzeville Center for the Arts since February 2024, John directs staff and oversees the creation of a new museum of African American art in Milwaukee's historic Bronzeville neighborhood. Previously, John held the position of Interim President and CEO at the Levine Museum of the New South and worked for over two decades at the Chicago History Museum, where key contributions included leading strategic planning initiatives and establishing the museum’s first diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiative. Other notable roles include design management at architrave p.c. architects and exhibition development for prestigious institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution and The Field Museum. John holds a Master of Science in Historic Preservation and Conservation from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in History from Northern Illinois University.
