Robert Rainer

Robert Rainer is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in engineering and scientific research. Currently serving as a Senior Technology Engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory since January 2010, Robert leads initiatives in innovative software solutions and AI integration for NSLS-II operations. Notable achievements include developing EPICS-based GUIs for Personnel Protective Systems and transforming the Accelerator Timing System using AI tools in 2022. Prior to this role, Robert worked as a Scientist at ElectroScience Laboratories, focusing on materials research and development for the electronics sector, and as a Chemical Specialist/Lab Supervisor at Structure Probe Incorporated, specializing in chemical compounds for advanced laboratory applications. Robert holds a Master of Science in Technical Engineering from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
