Nicki Alam Sullivan

Associate Director, Special Initiatives at Brookings

Nicki Alam Sullivan has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Since 2018, they have been working as the Associate Director for the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution. Prior to that, they worked as the Associate Director for the Office of the Executive Vice President at the same institution, starting in 2013. Before joining the Brookings Institution, they served as the Office Manager for the Office of the Special Envoy for Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations at the U.S. Department of State from 2013 to 2014.

In 2011, Nicki worked as an Account Executive at The Brunswick Group, where they were responsible for planning and executing various events. From 2008 to 2011, they held the role of Special Assistant to the Vice President for Foreign Policy and Senior Research Assistant for Amb. Susan E. Rice at the Brookings Institution. Their responsibilities included event planning, logistics management, and writing and editing for a manuscript on poverty and state failure.

Nicki's earlier experiences include working as an Analyst in International Affairs at CNA in 2007 and as the Center Coordinator at the University of Texas, Strauss Center for International Security and Law from May to August 2007. Nicki also served as a Political Affairs Intern at the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Mission to the United Nations in 2006. Overall, Nicki has demonstrated their expertise in event planning, research, coordination, and policy analysis throughout their career.

Nicki Alam Sullivan earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications Studies with a specialization in Public Relations from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Nicki later pursued a Master's degree in Public Policy at The LBJ School of Public Affairs from 2005 to 2007.
