Mike Johnson

Mike Johnson has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Mike is currently the Director of Operations at Brooklyn Center Community Schools, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Pumpkin Carver at MJ Creative Mind starting in 2014. Additionally, Mike has a background in music as a Lead Guitarist for multiple bands in the Twin Cities since 1980. Mike has also worked as an Artist at MJ Creative Mind since the same year. Mike has experience in program management and facilities maintenance, having served as the Program Director of Buildings and Grounds at Robbinsdale Area Schools from 2018 to 2021. Before that, they were a Senior Installation Engineer at The Radon Guys from 2014 to 2021. Mike began their career in 1988 at General Mills as an Operating Engineer/ Project Manager, and they retired from Wayzata Public Schools in 2015.

Mike Johnson attended Southwest High School until 1980, where they did not receive a degree or specify a field of study. After high school, they pursued higher education at Normandale Community College, where they earned an Associate of Arts degree in American History (United States) and Fine Arts. Following this, they enrolled at Red Wing Technical College, completing another Associate of Arts degree in Stringed Instruments Construction.
