Nila Natarajan

Nila Natarajan is an experienced legal professional specializing in family defense and clinical law. Currently, Nila serves as an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Law in the Family Defense Clinic at New York University School of Law since September 2022 and holds the position of Associate Director of Policy & Family Defense in the Family Defense Practice at Brooklyn Defender Services since January 2015. Nila has previously contributed as an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Law at Brooklyn Law School and worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Eastern District of Michigan. Nila's early career included internships at notable organizations such as the ACLU's National Prison Project and the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, along with a law clerk position at the Prison Law Office. Nila holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from New York University.
