Chris Price has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over 20 years. Their most recent role was as the Head of Operations, Disability Services at Brotherhood of St Laurence, where they managed a team of over 600 staff and oversaw various aspects of operations including data and systems, practice guidance, community capacity building, and recruitment. Prior to that, they worked as the Head Planning, Analysis and Reporting - NDIS Services at the same organization, where they managed contracts, finances, ICT, planning, reporting, and HR. Chris also worked as a Manager- Performance, Practice and Community at Brotherhood of St Laurence, where they played a key role in establishing the National Disability Insurance Scheme Local Area Coordination service.
Before joining Brotherhood of St Laurence, Chris ran their own consultancy firm, Chris Price Consultancy, providing project management and strategic advice to small to medium businesses. Chris developed briefing papers, business cases, and service development plans related to health quality improvement, health technology, and community-based programs.
Chris also has experience working in the healthcare sector. Chris served as a Project Manager Logistics and Operations for the Victorian Stroke Telemedicine Program at The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. Chris held various positions at National Stroke Foundation, including Director National Operations and Divisional Director Stroke Services, where they established new national structures, developed systems for operational planning, and implemented a national integrated clinical quality improvement program for stroke.
Earlier in their career, Chris worked at Darebin Community Health as a Manager for Child Youth Family, Drug, and Alcohol and Indigenous Access Program, where they established new teams, led a successful consortium, oversaw a major service review, and introduced systematic service planning and evaluation mechanisms. Chris also worked at Inner South Community Health Service as the Coordinator for Child Youth and Family Programs, where they established a multidisciplinary team and introduced action research and evaluation processes.
Chris's work experience also includes roles at DHS Drugs, Kildonan Child and Family Services, Children's Protection Society, and Health and Community Services. Chris has expertise in consultancy, program coordination, and counseling in areas such as alcohol and drug projects, youth services, and sexual abuse counseling and prevention.
Chris Price attended Monash University from 1983 to 1988, where they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Following this, they studied at La Trobe University from 1989 to 1990, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.
