Soljane Martinez

Soljane Martinez, Ed.D, currently serves as the Director of Library Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Brown University since September 2024. Prior experience includes the role of Director of School Improvement for Providence Public Schools from October 2023 to September 2024 and founding Soljane Martinez Consulting, an educational leadership consultancy launched in 2018. Previously, Martinez held several positions at Brown University as an Education Coordinator and at Highlander Charter School as Dean of Culture & Students and History Teacher. Additional roles include Principal at West Kingston Elementary School and a doctoral candidate at Johnson & Wales University, where an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration was obtained. Academic qualifications also include a Master's degree in Education from CUNY-Staten Island and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island.
