Yao Xu has worked in the marketing and engineering fields since 2004. Yao began their career as a Software Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell in 2004. Yao then took an Intern role at Motorola Labs in 2007. Yao returned to Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell in 2008 and held the roles of Pre-Sales Commercial Manager for Overseas Markets, Marketing Manager, and Software Engineer. In 2017, they became a Marketing Manager at Materialise, where they were responsible for Marketing Strategy and Operations, managed Marketing Budgets, Press Relations, and Internal and External Marketing Agencies, and was a People Manager of Local Marketing Specialists. Yao achieved key results such as planning and organizing an annual 300-people Materialise User Conference, and writing 10 original Wechat posts. In 2021, Yao Xu became a Senior Marketing Manager at both Browzwear and Oqton, Inc. At Oqton, their responsibilities included positioning Oqton as an AI-driven Cloud Platform of Autonomous Manufacturing, increasing Wechat followers from 0 to 700+, and significantly boosting brand awareness.
Yao Xu attended Shanghai Foreign Language School Affiliated to SISU from 1993 to 2000 and received a High School Diploma. Yao then attended Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2000 to 2004 and received a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering. Finally, they attended Télécom Paris from 2006 to 2008 and received a Master of Science in Networked Computer Systems.
