Oliver Weisberg is an alternate governor of the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the chief executive officer of J Tsai Sports, and the chief executive officer of Joe Tsai’s family office, a multi-strategy investment firm based in Hong Kong.
Weisberg graduated from Harvard College and spent considerable time living and doing business in Mainland China. He is a fluent Chinese speaker.
Weisberg started on Wall Street in New York and built his career in private equity, special situations, and hedge fund investing in Asia. He was part of Goldman Sachs’ (GS) Asian Special Situations and Principal Investment Area (PIA) divisions, where he represented the firm’s investment in Alibaba and sat on the Alibaba board on behalf of GS. In 2006, Weisberg joined Citadel and was a partner in Hong Kong when he left to join Tsai’s family office in 2016.
