Emma Bowyer has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Emma is currently the Operation Project Manager Lead at BSI since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an Ambassador for STEM Learning UK since August 2010. At DePuy Synthes, they held various positions including Team Lead - MDR remediation from January 2022 to February 2023, Senior Bioengineer - Knee NPD from April 2019 to January 2022, Biomechanics Test Engineer from January 2017 to April 2019, and Bioengineer from March 2014 to January 2017. Emma also served as a Trustee/Vice Chairman of Trustees for the Greenpower Education Trust from October 2010 to February 2014, where they provided advisory and mentoring support to schools. Additionally, they were a Student at the University of Nottingham from September 2009 to September 2013 and an Intern at GE, specializing in Mechanical Engineering, from September 2008 to July 2009. During their time at GE, they developed testing equipment and received basic training in workshop equipment, high-pressure testing facilities, and CAE systems. Emma was also involved in industry and women's liaison as part of the IMechE Young Members Panel in 2008 and 2009.
Emma Bowyer attended the University of Nottingham, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2009 to 2012. Emma later pursued a degree in BioEngineering at the same university from 2012 to 2013. In 2022, Emma Bowyer obtained a certification as a STEM Ambassador, completing 30 hours of engagement through STEM Learning.
