Sam Roberts

Sam Roberts is an accomplished AI Technical Team Manager at BSI since October 2022, leading a team focused on assessing the regulatory compliance and conformity of AI systems. Previously, as an AI Technical Specialist at BSI, Sam contributed to regulatory services for the AI Notified Body. Prior to this, Sam founded XMW Consulting in 2011, delivering consultancy services specializing in data science and software engineering. Significant achievements include the development of a credit risk analytics platform for a major global bank. Sam's earlier roles include Principal Application Engineer at MathWorks, where technical consultancy was provided for the MATLAB product family, and Principal Scientist at GlaxoSmithKline, contributing to a major initiative in liver toxicity biomarkers. Educationally, Sam holds a DPhil in Machine Learning from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from The University of Edinburgh, along with a MA in Maths and Philosophy from the University of Oxford.
