Christina Emmanouil

Research Scientist at BSRC Alexander Fleming

Christina Emmanouil is a research scientist at BSRC Alexander Fleming since November 2022, focusing on the impact of dietary restriction on the human gut microbiome and plasma metabolome. Previously, Christina worked as a medical laboratory scientist at Metropolitan Hospital and conducted an MSc thesis at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, where research centered on the effects of various risk factors on Parkinson's disease using machine learning. Academic credentials include a PhD in Bioinformatics (expected completion December 2023) and a Master's degree in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Patras. Additionally, Christina gained experience through undergraduate and intern positions in cell cycle research and bioinformatics.
