Sanjay Mukundbhai Thakkar

Sanjay Mukundbhai Thakkar is the Head of Strategic Projects at BSRM. Sanjay has over 18 years of experience in the steel industry, having worked with JSW Steel Ltd and Essar Steel.

Thakkar started their career with Jindal Stainlees Steel (JSL Stainless Ltd.) in December 2002 as AGM - Operations. In this role, they were responsible for the smooth operation of the stackel mill, including scheduling, production execution and maintenance planning. Sanjay also liaised with the cold rolling division to resolve quality issues.

In September 2004, Thakkar joined Essar Steel as General Manager - Special Projects. In this role, they oversaw a range of expansion projects at the company's Dolvi plant. Sanjay remained with Essar until October 2014, when they joined JSW Steel Ltd as General Manager Projects.

At JSW Steel, Thakkar was responsible for monitoring all expansion projects at Dolvi. Sanjay left the company in March 2019 to join BSRM as Head of Strategic Projects.

They are on a team with Sunil Kumar Das - Country Head, India, Mohammad Monir Hossain - Head, Corporate Strategy & Projects, and Tapan Sengupta - Deputy Managing Director. Their manager is Aameir Alihussain, Chairman & CEO.
