Overview/Summary of Role: You are a modern PMM. Data-driven and growth-minded in nature. You understand the art and science of product marketing and specialize in clearly articulating our position and product’s value in a way that resonates with the market and the customer. Thinking in JTBD terminology is your natural state. You’re a contributor or student of the PMA and you’ve implemented April Dunford’s positioning and taken it to market for companies. You represent the voice of the customer -- and you relentlessly drive product engagement and customer advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Positioning and Differentiation: Develop positioning strategies to highlight our unique selling propositions, differentiate our products, and build compelling narratives for products, customer segments, and the market.
  • Product Launches: Systemize and execute against the go-to-market strategy for product launches across direct and partner channels.
  • GTM Materials: Develop comprehensive sales and marketing materials, including sales decks, buyer personas, sales training assets, and partner/HR ecosystem sales assets.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Develop and maintain a competitive intelligence program: Gather and analyze competitor insights, creating battlecards and training materials to equip sales and marketing teams with up-to-date competitive information.
  • Pricing and Monetization: Develop and execute pricing strategies based on market trends and customer feedback, continuously optimizing monetization tactics to maximize revenue and enhance product value perception.
  • In-product User Referrals and Virality: Develop and implement referral and virality programs: Design and execute strategies to encourage user referrals and leverage viral marketing tactics to increase customer acquisition and enhance brand awareness.
  • Customer Segmentation Analysis: Uncover customer needs and develop customer segments across our products to inform decisions and improve LTV.
  • Customer Insight and Research: Conduct customer research: Gather quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, focus groups, and user feedback to inform product and marketing strategies, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs, preferences, and behaviors.
  • Market Intelligence: Analyze market opportunities and trends: conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities, assess market size and growth potential, and understand industry trends to guide strategic decision-making and product positioning.

Required Skills for Success:

  • Experienced with 7-12 years in product marketing, preferably in a high-tech environment
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence and drive cross-functional teams
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to drive data-informed decisions
  • Certifications from Product Marketing institutions (preferred: Product Marketing Alliance)
  • A self-starter and a cross-functional collaborator with a successful record of implementation and aligning tactical plans with strategy.
  • High motivation and thrive in a fast-paced, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
  • Agile in your approaches and you do what it takes to move fast in an ever-changing market and hit the numbers while staying within budget.
  • Open-minded about non-traditional approaches to marketing. You’re confident without being set in your ways. You’re well-informed and passionate about emerging trends in marketing and online business and culture.

Compensation:

  • The anticipated on target earnings (OTE) range for this role is $120,000 to $140,000. The starting base salary will depend on a number of factors including skills, experience, and market demands. The OTE range listed includes base salary and commissions which are dependent on performance.
