Betsy Neptune

Betsy Neptune is the current Executive Director of BUILD Boston. Prior to their current position, Ms. Neptune served as the Chief of Economic Development for the Metropolitan Area Planning Council from June 2018 to August 2021. In this role, they were responsible for providing economic development technical assistance to the 101 cities and towns in Eastern Massachusetts. Ms. Neptune also served as a Neighborhood Business Manager for the City of Boston from December 2013 to June 2017.

Betsy Neptune attended Trinity College-Hartford, where they obtained a B.A. in Anthropology and Spanish. Betsy later pursued a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at Harvard Kennedy School. In addition, they have also obtained graduate certificates in Corporate Social Responsibility from Universidad Alberto Hurtado and Non-profit management from Universidad de Chile.

Betsy Neptune reports to Ayele Shakur, CEO. Some individuals on their team include John Morytko - Donor Engagement Manager, Shannon Hayes - Senior Program Manager, and Angela Stokes - Director, Mentor & Community Engagement. Betsy Neptune works with Beverly Rama Pritchard - Director, Talent, Karleton Thomas - Regional Executive Director, DC, and Dale Lemke - Chief Finance & Operations Officer.
