Kristy Beam currently serves as a BES Fellow at BES, a national nonprofit focused on cultivating educational leaders. Kristy holds extensive experience in various educational roles, including Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Principal at City Schools of Decatur since May 2018. Kristy Beam is also a State Board Member for Bright From The Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning and an Instructor and Teacher Candidate Supervisor at the University of North Georgia. Previous leadership experience includes serving as Principal at the American School of Valencia and holding positions as Assistant Principal and Teacher at Gwinnett County Public Schools. Kristy Beam attained a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education from Brenau University, a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from The University of Georgia, and a Doctor of Education in Teacher Leadership from Walden University.
