David Wilkes has a diverse and extensive background in various leadership roles. David currently serves as the President and CEO of the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD), where they focus on government relations, marketing, and communication strategies. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Vice President at the Retail Council of Canada, where they established the Grocery Division and led the establishment of the Grocer Manufacturer Collaborative Committee. Wilkes also served as Senior Vice President at the Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors, where they achieved supply chain accomplishments and advocated for the introduction of the Voluntary Code of Conduct. Earlier in their career, Wilkes was the President of the Coffee Association of Canada, managing all aspects of the trade association and developing global partnerships. David also worked in the Ontario Ministry of Industry and Trade, advising Premier and Senior Cabinet Ministers on the impact of international trade agreements. Overall, Wilkes brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, government relations, and industry advocacy.
