David Barrell

David Barrell is an experienced engineering manager currently leading at Buildkite since August 2022. Previously, David held several positions at Culture Amp from June 2018 to July 2022, including Senior Delivery Lead and Technical Lead, where David contributed to the adaptation of the Shape Up methodology. Earlier roles include Machine Learning Engineer at The University of Melbourne, along with co-founding roles at Teenyco and TuteMe.co, developing platforms focused on ultrasound diagnostics and tutoring marketplaces, respectively. David's career also includes contract work at Capgemini and various positions in software development and support at Ormond College. David holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Systems from the University of Melbourne, in addition to a Diploma in Music.
