Andrey Gurov

Andrey Gurov currently serves as the Deputy Governor and Member of the Governing Council of the Bulgarian National Bank, a role commenced in July 2023 following an election by the National Assembly. Prior to this position, Andrey Gurov was a Member of Parliament from December 2021 to July 2023 and an Associate Professor of Finance at the American University in Bulgaria, where teaching and research focused on Corporate Finance, Risk Management, and Sports Analytics. Andrey Gurov has held significant academic roles, including a professorship at SDA Bocconi - AUBG, and extensive experience in the banking sector, notably as Head of Credit Risk Controlling at Österreichische Volksbanken AG. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Banking, Corporate Finance, and Securities Law from the University of Vienna, alongside various studies in economics.
