Hossam Afifi

Hossam Afifi has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and banking. Hossam currently serves as the Chief Information Officer at Burgan Bank, a position they have held since January 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Information Technology at Commercial Bank International from August 2012 to October 2017. Hossam also has experience as the Head of IT Strategic Planning, Governance & Projects at Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) Q.S.C. from September 2009 to February 2012. Before that, they worked as a Senior Manager in Technology & Security Risk Services at Ernst & Young LLP from November 2004 to September 2009. Hossam began their career as a Security Manager/Network Architect at Citibank/Orbian in June 2002 and worked there until November 2004.

Hossam Afifi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School. Hossam also completed the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and obtained certifications in Cloud Computing & DevOps from MIT Professional Education and Leading Digital Transformation from London Business School. In addition, Hossam Afifi has certifications in IT Infrastructure Library, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, PRINCE2 Practitioner, TOGAF® Certification, Cisco Certified Network Professional, and Web & Enterprise Security.
