Melissa Wang

School Representative - District Student Advisory Council at Burnaby School District - SD41

Melissa Wang is the founder of CorporateHer, established in July 2024, and currently serves as an intern at the Chicago Appleseed Center for Fair Courts, where collaboration with Cook County lawyers and law students focuses on immigration court reforms and criminal justice reformation through project management and data analysis. As a school representative on the District Student Advisory Council for Burnaby School District, Melissa advocates for over 1,700 students, facilitating input on district programs and policies. Additional experience includes roles as a public relations intern at ACLU, a People Operations Liaison at the Institute for Youth in Policy, and participation in UNICEF’s advocacy initiatives for children's rights. Prior to these positions, Melissa was a photographer with Canon Inc., leading team projects and collaborating with artists across Canada, and completed a corporate virtual internship at Baker McKenzie focusing on legal research. Currently enrolled at Burnaby South Secondary School, education will be completed in June 2025.
