Cathy Vartuli has extensive work experience in failure analysis and engineering roles. Cathy is currently a Senior Staff Failure Analysis Engineer at Vishay Siliconix Itzehoe GmbH. Prior to this, they worked at Butterfly Network, Inc. as a Principal Failure Analysis Engineer for three years, focusing on MEMS development and FA groups. Before that, they were a Failure Analysis Engineer and Manager at Apple, where they built and implemented the Failure Analysis lab and managed a team of analysts. Cathy also has experience at Texas Instruments, Intercat, Inc/ Artley Technology, Inc, Lucent Technologies/Agere Systems/Cirent Semiconductor, University of Florida, Sandia National Laboratories, Bell Laboratories, and State University, where they held various research and engineering positions. Overall, they have a strong background in analyzing and evaluating materials and processes for electronic devices.
Cathy Vartuli holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, which they completed from the University of Florida between 1994 and 1997. Cathy pursued postdoctoral study in Electrical Engineering at the same university during the same time period. Prior to that, they earned an MS degree in Physics from Binghamton University from 1991 to 1993. Their undergraduate studies were completed at the State University of New York College at Cortland, where they obtained a BA in International Studies from 1987 to 1990. Additionally, Cathy has obtained certifications in "Difficult Conversations: Talking about Race at Work" and "Building Resilience" from LinkedIn in 2023.
