Yili Zhao

Yili Zhao is a Senior Research Engineer at ByteDance since October 2021, having previously served as a Research Scientist at Facebook from December 2014 to October 2021, where co-design and development of "Habitat-Sim," a high-performance 3D simulator, was a key achievement. Earlier experience includes a position as a Research Engineer at 3Gear Systems, focusing on algorithms for real-time hand tracking, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Southern California, where Yili developed systems for simulating anatomically realistic plants and an augmented reality experience. Education includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, an M.S. in Computer Science from Peking University, and a B.S. in Computer Science from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
