Jonathan Szczepaniak

Jonathan Szczepaniak is an accomplished sports writer currently serving as the Lead Sports Writer at C & G Newspapers since May 2022, where responsibilities include overseeing sports stories for 17 publications across Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland County. Szczepaniak successfully established the Sports Department, implementing strategies to engage a diverse readership. Prior experience includes a role as a Freelance Sports Writer for The Detroit News from January 2020 to June 2022, contributing to the Prep Team Desk by interviewing coaches and reporting on local high school sports, as well as covering significant events such as the NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championship and Miguel Cabrera’s 3,000th hit. Szczepaniak is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs at Wayne State University, having graduated magna cum laude.
