Tia Mitchell

Tia Mitchell is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in political reporting. Currently serving as the Washington Correspondent for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution since November 2017, Tia focuses on national politics and issues particularly affecting Georgia and its Congressional Delegation. Previous roles include DeKalb County Lead Reporter and Statehouse Bureau Chief for The Florida Times Union, where Tia provided insights on state government and authored the weekly column "A View from Tallahassee." Additionally, Tia has worked as a fill-in host for C-SPAN's Washington Journal and held various reporting positions at the Tampa Bay Times and The Florida Times-Union, covering local governance, education, and breaking news. Tia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
