Evan Telford is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Columbia University in the City of New York, specializing in the synthesis of novel magnetic van der Waals materials and their magnetic and electronic properties, with a focus on the antiferromagnetic semiconductor CrSBr. Telford previously completed a Ph.D. in Physics at Columbia University, investigating correlated electron phases in 2D systems and the layer dependence of magnetic ordering in CrSBr. Telford has gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant, leading laboratory physics courses for undergraduate students. Earlier research experiences include studying the relativistic Hofstadter problem and constructing an atomic force microscope at Case Western Reserve University. Telford holds multiple degrees in Physics from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science from Case Western Reserve University, complemented by a study abroad semester at the University of Melbourne.
