Russell Kohl, MD, FAAFP has a diverse and extensive work experience. Russell currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at TMF Health Quality Institute, where they lead the Innovation and Analytics Team and serves as a subject matter expert on federal programs. Russell is also the Chief Operating Officer at TMF Health Quality Institute. Additionally, they are a Physician Volunteer at Care Beyond the Boulevard, providing healthcare to homeless individuals. Dr. Kohl is also the State Air Surgeon of Missouri at Missouri Air National Guard, overseeing all ANG medical programs and enhancing the force's ability to perform its missions. Russell has held leadership positions at the American Academy of Family Physicians as Speaker of the Congress of Delegates and Vice Speaker. Russell has also served as a Board Member at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. In the past, Dr. Kohl has held roles such as Commander at 131st Medical Group, Missouri Air National Guard and Founder of 2.0 Healthcare, LLC. Russell has worked as the Chief Medical Officer at TransforMED, leading practice transformation initiatives, and held the Paul Tietze Chair in Family Medicine at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine. Prior to this, they owned Russell Kohl, MD, PLLC.

Russell Kohl, MD, FAAFP has an extensive education background. Russell started their education journey in 1994 at Oklahoma State University where they completed their Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology in 1998. In 1998, they went on to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2002. Following that, they pursued specialized training in the field of Family Medicine by completing the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center from 2002 to 2006. Currently, they are enrolled at The George Washington University- Milken Institute School of Public Health, seeking further education which is expected to be completed in 2023.
