William Peteroy

William Peteroy is a seasoned leader in the technology and security sectors with extensive experience in advisory roles and innovation. As a Founding Partner at Blackthorne Consulting since 2020, William also serves as an Advisor and Affiliate Faculty at Montana State University-Bozeman and various advisory positions for companies including Edge Delta, Measured Analytics and Insurance, C2SEC, and Cyber Mentor Fund since 2018. Previously, William held the position of Chief Technology Officer - Security at Gigamon, leading security innovation and strategy until July 2020, and was the Founder and CEO of icebrg.io from 2014 to 2020. William's tenure at Microsoft from 2012 to 2014 as a Security Strategist included managing critical security initiatives across several product teams. Earlier, William contributed to the United States Department of Defense as an Information Security and Network Operations Analyst, specializing in adversary emulation and training programs. William holds a Master of Science in Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and German from the University of Colorado Boulder.
