Samar Das is the Founder and CEO of C3Research, a market research company. Samar was previously an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Central Florida, where they conducted research in brand equity and branding strategies. Samar also taught MBA courses on Marketing Strategy and Ph.D. Seminar on Consumer Behavior. Samar won the Excellence in Teaching Award for MBA teaching at UCF. In 2002, they founded C3Research and Weblab, and left their position at UCF to run the company full time in 2003.
Before joining UCF, Samar Das worked as the National Marketing Manager for the Retail Business Line at Berger Paints India from 1983 to 1992. Samar was responsible for the national marketing of consumer brands for the Consumer Business Line. Samar managed Product Management teams for various product groups; Advertising strategy and execution working with international ad agencies; New product development and launch; Overall marketing strategy for the consumer businesses of Berger Paints in the Indian Market. As Product Manager and then Marketing Manager at Berger Paints India, they executed a brand portfolio strategy that included successful launch of three national brands, strengthening of professional selling network, and industry leading advertising and promotion strategies. The cumulative impact of these measures resulted in Berger Paints moving up to number 2 rank in the consumer paint business in India, overtaking Nerolac.
Samar Das earned their Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management. Samar also holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. In 2010, they completed the TMD Executive Education program at Harvard Business School.
