Yan Li

Senior Director, Process Development at Cabaletta Bio

Yan Li has extensive work experience in the biotech and cell therapy fields. They started their career as a scientist at Beijing Zhonghai Biotech Co. Ltd. in 2002. From 2003 to 2005, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Division of Hematology, Stony Brook University, where they focused on the inhibition function of 4B-BP1 during eukaryotic translation through the PI3K signaling pathway.

In 2005, Yan Li joined The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as a Postdoctoral Fellow Associate. Here, they played a vital role in creating double mutant mice and utilizing laser capture microdissection to identify a new gene called Sam68 in the ventricular compact zone.

From 2008 to 2014, Yan Li worked at PENN as a Postdoctoral Fellow. During this time, they generated Foxp1 and Foxp4 deficient lines on adult mouse hearts and conducted CHIP assays to analyze gene manipulation on cardiomycyte signaling and remodeling.

In 2014, Yan Li joined The Clinical Cell and Vaccine Production Facility (CVPF) at UPENN as a Resources Technologist, where they performed large scale CAR-T cell manufacturing for various clinical trials. They also transferred techniques for the manufacture of CTL019 T cells to Novartis.

In 2016, Yan Li joined Adaptimmune as a Senior Scientist in Cell Manufacturing, specializing in T cell manufacturing and supporting phase I/II clinical trials for TCR T Cell. They also managed daily operations and led GMP process training programs.

Currently, Yan Li is working at Cabaletta Bio. They initially joined as an Associate Director of Manufacturing Science and Technology in 2019 and later promoted to the role of Director in February 2021.

Yan Li obtained a Master's degree in Immunology and Molecular Virology & Bioengineering from Nanjing Agricultural University in the years 1996 to 1999. Following this, Yan Li pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the same field of study at Nanjing Agricultural University from 1999 to 2002.
