Fernando Romero Balestra PhD is a highly experienced researcher with a strong background in cell biology and genetic engineering. Currently serving as a Research Associate, Postdoctoral Researcher, and Postdoctoral Scientist at CABIMER since February 2015, Fernando conducts research in Rosa M. Rios's lab focused on organelle positioning in human cells. Previously, Fernando engaged in postdoctoral work at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) from January 2010 to December 2014, where research concentrated on identifying new regulators of centriole duplication. Additionally, Fernando served as an Assistant Professor at Universidad Pablo de Olavide from 2006 to 2009, teaching courses on Genetic Engineering, Molecular Biology, and General Genetics, and completed a PhD focused on the cell cycle of the yeast S. pombe. Fernando holds a Licenciado en Biologia from Facultad de Biologia, Sevilla, obtained between 1995 and 2000.
