Alex Ankers

Alex Ankers has a diverse work experience in network services and telecommunications. Alex currently works as the Chief NetDevOps Architect at CACI Ltd, where they are responsible for building NetDevOps and automation practices within the company. Alex also mentors and introduces DevOps tooling and techniques to establish the capability and credibility in this area.

Previously, Alex worked at Network Rail as a Network Design Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Network Design Consultant. Alex provided guidance and expertise in data center, cloud, and enterprise networking, ensuring consistent and cohesive delivery of network technologies.

Alex also worked at Open Energi as a Network Consultant, where they performed a Firewall Migration and provided ongoing network consulting. Before that, they were a Network Engineer at Atkins, where they focused on IP network planning, design, and implementation, particularly in railway signaling systems.

Alex's early career involved various roles at Network Rail, including Senior Network Engineer, Graduate Network Administrator, Graduate Operational Security Analyst, and Graduate Infrastructure Solution Architect. In these roles, they maintained and troubleshooted faults in the network, provided support and advice, and worked on security measures.

Alex Ankers completed their education in the following chronological order:

1. From 2006 to 2009, Alex attended the University of Central Lancashire and earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Network Technology.

2. Prior to university, from 2004 to 2006, Alex studied at Sir John Deane's VI Form College, where they completed their A-Levels in Business Studies, Computing, and English Language.

3. From 1999 to 2004, Alex attended Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and completed their GCSEs.
