Jim Burlant's work experience starts in 1991 as an Associate Software Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company. Jim then worked as a Software Engineer/Terminal Programmer at GTECH from 1997 to 1998.
In 2004, Jim joined L3 Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer 2, where they developed applications for Air Force training research and integrated Text-to-Speech (TTS) voices into simulations. Jim remained in this role until 2010 when they became a Principal Software Engineer, focusing on weapon simulations for F-A/18 aircraft. Jim integrated COTS weapon models and modified software interfaces for the Stores Management System and Mission Computer.
From 2019 to 2021, Jim worked at L3Harris Technologies as a Principal Software Engineer, specializing in F-A/18 simulations and serving as an in-house Subject Matter Expert on smart Air-to-Ground weapons.
Currently, Jim is a Principal Software Engineer at CAE, starting in 2021. Jim is responsible for supporting avionics interfaces for domestic and FMS F-16 weapon simulations. Jim has successfully integrated air-to-ground weapon models into the F-16 simulation and is recognized as an in-house subject matter expert for various weapons.
Jim Burlant attended Virginia Tech from 1983 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
