Andy O'Neill

Andy O'Neill has extensive work experience in software engineering and technical leadership roles. Andy is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at Caire since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Source Health from January 2021 to January 2023. Before that, they were a Principal Engineer at MeetElise from June 2020 to January 2021. Andy also has significant experience at Harry's, Inc., where they held various roles including Backend Architect, Manager of Core Engineering, Staff Software Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer. Andy was responsible for technical leadership, backend project management, and mentoring colleagues. Additionally, Andy has experience as a Co-Founder at Stickr, where they developed firmware and managed web backend systems. Andy also worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Developer at EnergyHub, focusing on backend and devops for IoT deployments. At African Solutions to African Problems, Andy volunteered and developed reporting processes and web-based databases. Andy started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University, where they worked on software simulations, data analysis, and collaboration with international colleagues. Andy also worked as a Software Developer at Simplified Telesys, where they contributed to web-enabled conference calling platforms and telecoms switches integration.

Andy O'Neill completed their Bachelor's degree in Physics from The University of Manchester from 1996 to 2000. Later, they pursued their PhD in Astrophysics from Columbia University and successfully completed it from 2001 to 2008.
