Michael Mergen

Michael Mergen is an experienced project manager currently serving at Calcium+Company since February 2023. Prior to this role, Michael held project management positions at Tierney, where clients included Independence Blue Cross, AmeriHealthNJ, and Fine Wine & Good Spirits, from March 2022 to January 2023, and at The Center For Emerging Visual Artists from September 2019 to June 2021 as Community Program Manager. Michael's academic career includes a significant tenure at Longwood University as both Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Art/Photography from August 2011 to July 2020. Michael also contributed to the field of photography as an assignment photographer for Bloomberg News and The New York Times between October 2000 and December 2010. Educational qualifications include a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design (2009-2011) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Journalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology (1996-2000).
