Andres Charry Sanchez

Andres Charry Sanchez has over 14 years of work experience in project controls and management roles in various industries. Andres has worked for companies such as Calibre Mining Corp, AngloGold Ashanti, Grupo Energía Bogotá, Enel, and Constructora Colpatria.

In their most recent role as Head of Project Controls at Calibre Mining Corp, Andres led the corporate project control management for greenfield and brownfield mining projects in Nicaragua. Andres was responsible for developing and managing schedules, cost control, estimating, reporting, risk management, and implementing software tools for managing earned value and cost predictability.

Prior to that, Andres worked as the Planning and Control Corporate Coordinator at AngloGold Ashanti, where they led the project control team for mining projects in Colombia. Andres was responsible for detailed plans, estimating, cost management, planning and scheduling, and progress measurement and evaluation.

Before that, Andres served as a Contracts Manager at Grupo Energía Bogotá, where they managed pre-contractual and contractual management, planning, and scheduling for energy projects. Andres also handled budget projections, billing approval, and generated technical-economic reports.

Andres also gained experience at Enel, where they held multiple roles related to project controls for the El Quimbo Hydroelectric Project. Andres ensured contractual compliance, managed project controls teams, and led the scheduling and compliance with socio-environmental impact mitigation components of the project.

In their earlier career, Andres worked at Constructora Colpatria as a Budget, Schedules, and Feasibility Senior Engineer. Andres was responsible for the technical and economic feasibility of projects, budget preparation, schedule development, and estimation.

Throughout their career, Andres has demonstrated their expertise in project controls, including cost management, planning and scheduling, risk management, and progress measurement and evaluation. Andres has worked on a variety of projects in different sectors, showcasing their versatility and adaptability.

Andres Charry Sanchez has an extensive education history in various fields. In 2005, they began their undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at Universidad Piloto de Colombia, which they completed in 2009. In 2011, they pursued a Master's degree in Civil Engineering at Universidad de Los Andes, which they successfully obtained in 2012. During the same year, they also completed a specialized program in Strategic Management at Universidad de La Sabana.

In 2017, Andres Charry Sanchez further expanded their education by pursuing a specialization in Environmental Law at Universidad Externado de Colombia, which they completed in 2018.

Aside from their academic pursuits, Andres Charry Sanchez has obtained several certifications. In 2020, they acquired the Professional in Project Management (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Andres also completed a course in Preparation for the PMP Certification from Universidad EAFIT in the same year. In 2022, they earned a certification in Project Planning and Control using Primavera P6 from Proyetech Consultores.

Furthermore, Andres Charry Sanchez holds certifications as an Auditor in ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Andres also possesses the Auditor certification in OHSAS 18001 from Bureau Veritas Group. Lastly, they achieved an IELTS Academic CEFR C2 Level certification from IELTS Official.
