Imamu Tomlinson

Imamu Tomlinson, MD, MBA, is Chief Executive Officer of Vituity and President of the Vituity Cares Foundation. Prior to his appointment as CEO in 2017, he served as Vituity's President. As a former Regional Director of the Sequoia Region, he led the creation of one of Vituity’s first multihospital, multispecialty, integrated networks. Dr. Tomlinson also served as a member of the Vituity Board of Directors from 2012 to 2015.

In 2021, Dr. Tomlinson was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives and selected as one of Fierce Healthcare’s Most Influential Minority Executives for 2021.

In addition, Dr. Tomlinson is a former Chief of Staff for the Adventist Health Central Valley Network, where he continues to practice as an emergency physician. He previously served as Medical Director for Adventist Health's Hanford and Selma emergency departments, which received Vituity Site of the Year distinctions. Dr. Tomlinson also spearheaded an effort to create the network's Department of Emergency and Diagnostic Medicine and later served as its chair.

Dr. Tomlinson holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from St. Lawrence University and a medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. He completed his residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Ohio and is board-certified in emergency medicine. In 2012, Dr. Tomlinson earned an MBA in healthcare administration from California Coast University.
